Becca & Josh | Arkansas Wedding Photographer

When I first met B&J this past summer over lunch at the House of Pizza, I knew I was really going to like them...a LOT :) Not sure if it was because of Becca's choice of wedding colors (purple and silver) or because Josh was a rocker like my hubby, or just because they were both so cute, fun and totally in love, but somehow I just had a feeling ♥

Becca & Josh were married November 12th, at Magnolia Hill in Little Rock.
Her dress is from David's Bridal.
Awesome cakes were made by Cakes by Sam in Jacksonville.
DJ services provided by Central Arkansas Entertainment.

When the ceremony begins, the groom and his best man make a surprise appearance by paddling up to the site in a boat!

Um, yes, the bride is picked up in a carriage to be escorted with her father through a wooded trail to the ceremony site!

As if the whole gorgeous ceremony wasn't Robin Hood and Maid Marion-ish enough, after the kiss they get to release DOVES!!!

The reception is held up the hill on the patio and stone courtyard...

After the last dance, everyone gets to watch a firework grand finale on the lawn. I'm serious.

And then, the wedding bell chimes...and they make their exit through a sea of bubbles, to get away in a 1938 Packard--with more fireworks :)

And just like that, they're off! The new Mr.&Mrs. disappear into the evening on their way to change names and Facebook satuses and live happily ever after ♥

As this is posting, I am wrapping things up and headed home from a fantastic day with Josh & Becca at Magnolia Hill no doubt :)
We met up there for Becca's bridals last month, and it's always like trying to hide a Christmas present that you buy several weeks/months in advance, but now I finally get to share!

Her favorite movie as a kid was Secret Garden...does she not totally fit the part?!?

Sarah & Luke are Engaged!

Could I have lucked out with a more suitable fall-themed, Halloween post? I don't think so :)

Shortly after Luke popped the question (come to find out, in the form of an extra verse to a song he wrote for Sarah!!), Sarah contacted me and we scheduled a shoot for their engagement photos. I LOVE when engagements are done around the time that you actually get engaged because we are capturing the new emotions that you are feeling and it is truly reflected in your images. ((That being said, if you're a guy wanting to pop the question this holiday season, message me for details on an amazing surprise proposal shoot!))

So, we met up at Sarah's parent's house and enjoyed the sunset with a walk in the woods, pumpkin carving and warm campfire :)

Sarah is a fellow photo enthusiast as well, so I brought along my vintage cams to play around with...good times :)

A little story time in the tent...Luke was reading P&P with a British accent!! Hysterical!!

Needless to say, I am beyond thrilled and can't wait to capture their big day next summer :) Congratulations you guys!!

When I first met up with Chera earlier in the year and she showed me her picture clippings of ideas she had for her dream day, I couldn't help but get a little excited as one of the images she had was one I had saved a year before :) Barn/ranch weddings are such a fun idea because you get to contrast the glitz and glam of the wedding day against the casual, laid-back outdoor setting. Perfect for a spring or fall outdoor wedding in Arkansas :)

These two were sooooo in love...and in the real kind of way. You know, like, they laugh, they be silly, they dance, have fun and enjoy life. It's always a real treat getting to shoot weddings that are such a celebration of this kind of love ♥

Chera had rockstar aunts that coordinated her wedding from the decor to the food and awesome cousins who made the boutonnieres and bridesmaid bouquets. (I seriously think they should all quit their day jobs.)

Timing couldn't have been more perfect for an evening wedding...the lighting was just gorgeous!

And then after some fun in the Little Red Photobooth...

They danced. The night. Away. (Word is the party didn't shut down until 2AM!)

Monica and Jason's wedding last week in Danville was so beautiful!! They couldn't have asked for better weather and everything was SO green! Monica and I actually went to grade school together. I can't rave enough about how much I love albums! They are THE perfect way to record your day as it's presented in storybook fashion!

Stacy and Clinton's beautiful country wedding was held out in Norfork on March 12th, under Stacy's favorite evergreens in Clinton's parents yard :) The weather turned out perfect for their wedding weekend! They cut their cake after the ceremony...and then headed out to the new barn to PAR-TAY! Live music was provided by my husband and his super-cool band, and the groom got up during the celebration to sing his new bride Eric Church's song, I Love Your Love the Most. I was so happy to be a part of capturing their memories for them!!

So, without further ado, here's the wedding day story of a backwoods boy and a fairytale princess :) (viewing in "Expand" mode is muy better ;)

For C&H's E-sesh, we met up in Jonesboro a few weekends ago. Ever since I shot Zach and Liz there, I fell in love with their main street and back alleys!
Candace also wanted to incorporate ASU--the campus where they first met :)
(I love when people pick spots that are meaningful to them as the backdrop...it makes the picture all that more special!) So after several weeks of emails and phone calls, we finally meet up for their engagement shoot...and they ROCKED it!
They are such a sweet, fun (not to mention gorgeous!) couple...their love was easy to capture :)

Thanks for a great time, guys...can't wait for the wedding!!!

Okay, so it is waaaaaayyyyy past my bedtime, but I wanted to get this first part up so I can add Part 2 tomorrow...er, um, I mean later today :\

What a super fun wedding day Suzanna and Chris had...such a sweet couple...surrounded by great friends and family...

We met up with Suzanna and her girls at Studio One salon in West Plains. She had gotten personalized shirts for all of them :)

She was a gorgeous bride! Needed absolutely no touch up! I couldn't believe it! (Suzanna, you don't know how lucky you are!!!)

Here she is sporting her new floating pearls from her new husband :)

And purple has been the flavor of the season, has it not?!?

What an absolute blessing and honor to help capture memories of Melissa and Karl's wedding last weekend!!! Where to start...
Melissa and I grew up going to school together. My dad (who was a school bus driver for a short time) always reminds me that it was she and her sister who used to do flips in the aisle of the school bus when we were little! I remember maybe being on a few softball teams and having a few classes together in junior and senior high. I remember Melissa was always a fun-loving, bright and spirited person...
Fast forward to last year, Melissa popped up in my "suggested friends" list on facebook and I was so excited as I had wondered about her throughout the years!
Anyway, last December, we both finally got to change our relationships statuses to "engaged" :) Shortly thereafter, Melissa contacted me and asked if I'd shoot her wedding!

And what a special day it was...

We met up at Blue Door & Co salon in Bentonville Saturday morning for hair and make-up. It was so much fun and felt like we were shooting a real rockstar because she was having hair AND make-up done at the same time! At the salon, Melissa explained to us that she had three gifts to give to Karl before the ceremony....the first was waiting on him in his dressing room, and the others would be delivered to him by her parents.

When Karl arrived at the church, he did indeed see his gift waiting for him, however he was more anxious to finish putting together his gift for Melissa--a new Bible with her new married name engraved on the front of the cover. It took him a few moments as he wrote a special, personal message to her inside :) When Karl finally got around to opening his gifts (in between trying to get dressed!) he had received two new pairs of Toms shoes--his favorite. The final gift was something Melissa had custom made for him, and I'll tell you more about it in a minute :)

Meanwhile, back in Melissa's dressing room, she was busy getting together her "something old, new, borrowed and blue" while visiting with family and friends that dropped in for a sneak peak ;) I poked my head in to let her know that Karl had finished opening his first two gifts and was ready for the third...she gave me explicit instruction to capture his expression when he received this gift. She said if Karl was going to cry today, it was going to be when he got this gift!

40 days before their wedding day, Melissa wrote on their bathroom mirror a reason why she loved Karl. The next morning, she decided to do it again and wrote another reason why she loved him! And because this girl is SO in love, and I'm sure could come up with a bazillion reasons why she loves her man, she decided that she was going to write on the bathroom mirror every day until their wedding day! Being the creative planner that she is, Melissa sent her list to her sister who painted a humongo canvas of everything she had written on their mirror for the past 40 days! This was Karl's third gift :) And, yes, we were all bawling (including me behind the camera!) when Melissa's dad presented Karl with the painting!

It is so apparent that these two are the loves of each other's lives! Below is a slideshow of their wedding album...part one. Enjoy :)

So, in the midst of ordering wedding prints, I realize I didn't post Melissa's bridals! When you have to hold off on these images until after the wedding so the Groom won't see, they sometimes tend to get lost in the shuffle ;) Anyway, Melissa's bridal experience was one of those coolest moments EVER. We shot at a location that is like a legendary historical marker! First, check this out:

Um, yep! That's right the "Joe Applegate House" in Bentonville! I love how the news clipping calls it the "Ultimate Party House," with the likes of Ronnie Hawkins, Levon Helm, Bob Dylan, John and Yoko possibly hanging out there...and yes, WE were there and left our mark too :)

Oh yeah...living history :)
